Dr David Kuram Kaki is a Nigerian academic and Medical Physicist currently serving as a Lecturer II at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He holds a PhD (2024) and an M.Sc. (2017) in Radiation and Medical Physics from Benue State University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (2013) from the University of Maiduguri, and a B.Sc. in Physics from Ahmadu Bello University (2012).
Dr Kaki’s career bridges higher academic instruction with hands-on industrial expertise. He spent nearly a decade serving as a Medical Physicist with Josh-Sam Radiation Consults Limited, managing radiation protection protocols, conducting quality control testing for diagnostic radiology facilities, and leading safety compliance programs. His research expertise centres on radiation protection, ionising radiation and applications, indoor radon gas monitoring, and the practical application of ultraviolet (UV-C) radiation for microbial inactivation and food preservation. Dr Kaki is an active member of both the Nigerian Association of Medical Physics (NAMP), the Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), and the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences (NSPS.
